A Trade Ministry official said he hoped the World Economic Forum on East Asia, which is scheduled to be held in Jakarta from June 12 to 13, will bring benefits, especially to small- and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs).
"Most of the participants [to the WEF] are businesspeople. We hope the event brings benefits for Indonesian investment and SMEs," Trade Ministry Director General for International Trade Cooperation Gusmardi Bustami said Tuesday.
An estimated 560 businesspeople and government representatives from across Asia, including 149 participants from Indonesia alone, are scheduled to attend the two-day conference. Gusmardi said leading Indonesian companies such as Pertamina, Bank Mandiri, Bank BNI, and Agung Podomoro Group would be among the delegates.
